This Veteran With One Leg Finished The Boston Marathon With A Moving Tribute
I have two perfectly good legs, but I doubt that I could do what this veteran did. Not only did he complete the 26-mile Boston Marathon and carry a runner across the finish line (on a prosthetic leg, no less) but he did it all for a beautiful reason.
Veteran Earl Grannville lost the lower half of his left leg when his vehicle was hit by a roadside bomb in Afghanistan, but he has not let the injury slow him down. In fact, he wasn't just determined to stay active -- he wanted to run marathons! After competing in Chicago, Detroit, and New York, the Pennsylvania native headed to Boston. There, he was planning a tribute that would warm the hearts of millions.
